We are currently hiring for Part Time and Full Time Back of House positions (about 25 to 35 hrs/week). Positions include Line Cooks, Porters, and possibly a Full Time dishwasher. All of these positions have a probationary period for training as we head into our busy season. Our restaurant is cozy and extremely fast paced. If you feel comfortable working in a fast paced environment this is the role for you. We are seeking candidates with previous kitchen experience (Ramen experience would be a plus), flexible availability, and a desire to be challenged. We are a small team and the ability to work as a team is crucial to a successful service. Expectations: All positions: - Punctuality: We expect our employees to show up to scheduled shifts dressed and ready to work. The unspoken rule of the service industry: “If you’re on time, you’re late.” - Enthusiasm: This is a growing business and we are passionate about what we do at Monster. We hope to find candidates who will share that same enthusiasm for the cuisine and their performance during shifts. - Flexibility: Demand in the kitchen is always changing and because of that we are looking for an individual who has some flexibility with their availability, - Energy: The food service industry is very demanding and here at Monster the demand is high. The ideal candidate would be able to maintain a consistent energy level and match the team throughout a face paced service. - Teamwork: Just like in any kitchen setting, teamwork is essential to a successful service. This is critical at Monster; our kitchen is small and safety is important, communication that is audible prevents accidents, clear directions prevents confusion during service and productive movement improves efficiency. These are examples of the teamwork we are searching for at Monster. - Menu: Every staff member is given all materials and opportunities to learn our menu, ingredients, and culture. We expect our staff to study the menu and demonstrate a progression of knowledge of the material throughout their training as we will have seasonal dishes involving new ingredients and concepts. - Decorum: We are a small team that is very close knit, however we still practice respect for one another and practice professional kitchen decorum. This expectation is heightened for porters and line cooks due to the fact that we are an open kitchen setting and work under the assumption that eyes, ears, and even cameras are around.
